Audition

“It’s the Twelfth Century, England, once a proud and honorable land is now held in the clutches of terror. Freedom of speech is a thing of the past, an evil force sweeps through the land. Can this evil be opposed? One mans belief is often not enough to change anything, but where that belief inspires others, there is hope. There once lived such a man… his name, was Robin Hood.”
|
This classic retelling of Robin Hood will leave your audiences stunned. Between the sword fights, the phenomenal music (with nods to classic ’80s rock), and a large cast with ensemble––this musical is sure to be a crowd pleaser!

What to Expect at Auditions
Welcome!
Auditioning for a show is an act of courage! We’re so excited that you’re thinking about auditioning at The Royal Theatre, and we hope this helps you feel more comfortable!
1st Station – Paperwork
- Audition Form: The Audition Form is the first page you’ll fill out. It will be given to the director before you audition. If you have a resume or headshot (not necessary), we will attach it to the Audition sheet.
2nd Station – Turn in your paperwork. Once you fill out the Audition Form, bring it to the director in the auditorium at the makeshift table.
3rd Station – Photo We will then take your picture so the director can refer to these when selecting parts.
Sides: All of the sides (short selections from the script that actors perform in an audition) are laid out for your use. They are separated by the names of the characters in the show. Some directors will have you read for specific characters, some will do a more general reading and cast regardless of the role read for. You may even be asked to read an opposite gender role simply to give everyone more opportunities to read.
Waiting: Please wait quietly in the auditorium until you are called on to read.
Auditions are Held on the Mainstage: As you enter the theatre, you will be asked to go up on stage.
When/How do I find out if I’m in the cast? The director will tell you at the audition when and how you will be notified if you are cast or not.
